HTWCEA 5K and 10K

Hopi-Tewa Women’s Coalition to End Abuse recognizes October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). We are hosting a fundraiser to raise funds to allow us to complete renovations to our new physical office. in addition, funds will be used to support HTWCEA’s grassroots work to provide culturally based programming to promote healing, and prevention of violence against women and girls. Registration is now open for the DVAM Virtual 5K & 10K Run. Running continues to be a means to bring strength and awareness to certain topics. In October, we ask you to join us in bringing awareness to ending violence on Hopi & Tewa. This year, our theme is "Valuing Resilience, Connections, and Healing: Continuing the Movement for a Violence-Free Hopi & Tewa". We must carry the movement to end violence against our Native women and girls. A movement that began with our grandmothers, mothers, and sisters that increased awareness of domestic violence, pushed for support for victims and survivors, and initiated efforts for prevention grounded in culture and traditional teachings that have been passed down for generations and will continue for those to come. Itam soosoyam naakyaptsiyungwni - It takes ALL of us to end domestic violence!
